FluidWiz-10 is a microfluidic add-on system that transforms your microscope into a versatile microfluidic workstation. It allows you to perform delicate and complex experiments with precise control and high reproducibility, making it ideal for demanding research applications in microfluidics.

6 SYRINGE PUMPS
The system includes six ultra-precision syringe pumps, with three mounted on each side of the microscope’s eyepiece. These pumps allow for picoliter-precision delivery of samples, buffers, media, and other liquids into your microfluidic chip.

MOTORIZED MICROSCOPE STAGE
At the heart of the system is the motorized microscope table (50 x 50 mm), enabling automation of experiments that require precise table movements. When used with Tweez optical tweezers, it extends the manipulation range from the standard 100 x 100 µm to the full 50 x 50 mm range of the table. The stage is thermally controlled, enhancing the system’s capabilities for on-chip cell cultivation, physiological studies etc. It’s compatible with the Piezo microscope stage and can be equipped with a transparent hood for volumetric temperature control.

APPLICATIONS
The system aims to automate delicate and long term experiments that cannot be executed manually. Here are several examples that can be executed with ease:
- Single cell cultivations in microfluidic chambers. Optical tweezers with the aid of the motorized microscope table enable simple and precise single cell population of individual microfluidic chambers. The thermal control of the system reassures optimal temperature for cell proliferation and pumps establish fresh media, media gradients or complex media manipulations for a range of studies. The motorized table enables excellent, automated timelapses of individual growth chambers.
- DNA chain stretching studies. The pumps can be used to precisely deliver DNA fragments coupled to microparticles. Optical tweezers and motorized table are used to move the DNA fragments on microparticles into an on-chip testing chamber where DNA chain stretching can be studied.
